Generic baby formula

Generic baby formula

Did anyone use any and what brand did you get? The cost of formula is insane and I want to switch to a generic, but I have no idea which is good. HELP.

I'm way out of date on this sort of thing, but my ped had recommended Good Start. As I recall, it was cheaper than some others.

Did you check Craigslist? I gave away a bunch of cans on there since I didn't need them. I kept getting sent Enfamil samples.

Collin had bad reflux and we were on Nutramigen for a while. Talk about expensive! He didn't do so well on that either so my peds recommended Good Start. He did great on it and it was so much cheaper. Good luck!

Thanks, I think we are going to go with Parents Choice, the kids mom finally decided she would try it and it was fine. And the parents choice is made by the manufacturer who does all the generic stuff, so I can get the target brand or kirklands or which ever and it is the same stuff. I still just can't believe how expensive it is. I am glad I am only buying it part time for one kid.

No you are reading it right. I buy it for the daycare kid. Shane has never had it, well except the one time he stole Jaxon's bottle.

Because I am doing the daycare through the Navy, we have to provide all food and drinks unless the parents refuse what we serve. In exchange though, I am paid per meal I serve. So with the Similac, I was breaking even or not even making anything off the formula, and there is food on top of it, with the generic stuff, I will break even or come a little ahead (like 20 per month) but that is supposed to make up for my effort to drive and buy the food, prepare it and store it.

erin it seems like on one of the baby boards i go to someone mentioned something about maybe Parent's Choice being made at the same factory as one of the more expensive brands? It vaguely recall the details lol.

We are getting ready to have to buy pediasure for Jasmine. That's going to be expensive as well. It's what preemies go on after they turn 1 yr.

Is it more expensive then formula? I mean can't you just keep her on formula? Seems like 1 is such an arbitray number.

Holly, find out if your insurance covers it. Art's pharmacy delivers pediasure to preemies all the time, and all of their deliveries are billed to insurance.

Oh and I just got some from Target on clearance. 2 of the large cans for 16 bucks. It makes double what one of the large cans of Similac will make and that was 22.09
