What time do you eat dinner?

What time do you eat dinner?

I'm not talking about nights you are getting home late from work or eating early so you can rush to sports practices or games. I mean the nights when you just have a "normal" dinner -- if there is such a thing. LOL I know it's rare around here.

We usually eat between 5:30 and 6 on normal nights. Thats is all dependent on cook times and when Wayne actually walks in from work. I try to have it finished so we can start at 5:30, but with four kids interupting every 5 seconds, sometimes I don't meet the self-imposed deadline. On soccer nights and such, it's running closer to 7-7:30.

6:30ish on normal nights, accomplished only because now that I work from home I don't have to commute!

It's funny at our house. The kids usually eat no later than 5:30. But DH and I get home later than a lot of folks (our child care arrangement is a nanny, who makes dinner for the kids), so it's fairly routine during the week for us to eat at 7:30 or later. But on the weekends? It's closer to 5:15. I don't know whether it's that we're so boring there's nothing else to do but eat, or we just get hungrier earlier, but I find it odd that it's not a problem for me to eat dinner at 7:45 many weeknights and still be really hungry at 5 on the weekends!

Weeknights I shoot for 5:30 but sometimes and am as late as 6:30 depending on what's going on. I like both kids in bed by 8 and lights out by 8:30 so the earlier dinnertime helps facilitate that! Fri-Sat nights are later, especially if we go out to dinner, which is most always at least once during the weekend.

4-5:30 pm... as a kid dad got home at 3pm and that's when we ate dinner. I'm an early bird. I like dinner earlier the better then not eat anything the rest of the night except maybe ff pudding pops, pudding cups, 100 cal popcorn, or jello. Although I'm always hungry/graze during the day and in the evening I have no appetite at all.

Right around 6:00 M-S. Sunday I typically have our "big" meal around 2:00, with a light "meal" around 7:30.

Typically, between 8 pm and 9 pm. However, the kids generally don't even get up until around 10 am, so breakfast is usually 10:30 or 11 am. Then lunch is around 2 or 3 pm, and snack around 5 pm.

They are SUPPOSED to be in bed by 10 pm, but in reality, it's generally more like 10:30 or 11 and they generally go to sleep around midnight.

Since I'm assuming public/private school kids eat breakfast around 7 am, if you adjust our times backwards by 3 hours to compensate for our irregular schedule, it looks like we would eat around 5 or 6, your time!

Between 6 and 6:30, as we usually get home between 5 and 5:30 on a normal day, which isn't the "norm".

It really just depends!

I usually cook about four nights a week. Wednesday is an "everyone for themselves" night, since we have church, and we usually just eat leftovers on Sunday night. Generally eat out on Friday night or Sunday afternoon. Dinner is earlier on Saturday and Thursday (my work-at-home day) since I'm at home and later on Monday and Tuesday, since I don't get home from work until nearly 6 p.m. Dinner is usually at 7 p.m. those nights!

It is usually 6:30-7. Sometimes as late as 7:30.

That is much later than I'm used to, but with long commutes and being in the news business, you have to compensate. At least we eat dinner together 5-6 nights of the week.
